Since its release on late September 2021, New World has gained a lot of attentions from players all over the world. This massively multiplayer online role-playing game developed by Amazon Games introduced an open-world called Aeternum which covers territories and a whole system of resources players should know about. Let’s explore the New World Map system.

Territories – Zones in New World
The Magic land – Aeternum has 14 zones that varies in levels and resources
Low Level Zones
Low Level Zones in New World Map are the starting areas. Players can spawn in each one of these four areas to do quests and farm low-tier crafting materials. These areas can be controlled by players with Settlement and Fort.
- Everfall (lvl 1-32)
- Monarch’s Bluffs (lvl 1-25)
- First Light (lvl 1-25)
- Windsward (lvl 1-24)
Mid Level Zones
Mid Level Zones in New World Map are also player-controlled territories with Settlement and Fort.
- Brightwood (lvl 27-35)
- Cutlass Keys (lvl 27-40)
- Weaver’s Fen (lvl 30-40)
High Level Zones
High Level Zones in New World Map are also player-controlled territories with Settlement and Fort.
- Restless Shore (lvl 41-46)
- Mourningdale (lvl 42-50)
- Ebonscale Reach (lvl 51-62)
- Reekwater (lvl 58-65)
Endgame Neutral Zones
Neutral territories with Outposts only. Players can only come to do quests and farm high-tier materials but cannot own the territories.
- Great Cleave (lvl 42-60)
- Edengrove (lvl 50-62)
- Shattered Mountain (lvl 60-65)
Expedition Location New World Map
Expedition in New World are five-player instanced dungeons that will take players to the darkest corners of Aeternum. These are intended for players with appropriate level of experience.
Each of the Expeditions is a separate story, it consists in solving puzzles and fighting with unique mini-bosses and Bosses for unique loot. You can access the Expedition after reaching level 25.
The following Expeditions are currently available:
- The Amrine Excavation Expedition (level 25) – Windsward
- The Starstone Barrows Expedition (level 35) – Everfall
- The Depths Expedition (level 45) – Restless Shore
- The Dynasty Shipyard Expedition (level 55) – Ebonscale Reech
- Garden of Genesis Expedition (level 60) – Edengrove
- The Lazarus Instrumentality Expedition (level 60) – Reekwater

Fast travel points – New World Map
In New World, you can also fast travel for free if you check in at one of the many Inns. Once you checked into an Inn, you’ll be able to fast travel straight back to it by clicking the Inn’s icon on the map (Recall to Inn). However, you can only mark one Inn at a time and travel back every 1 hour.
Besides, you can still fast travel from and to a Spirit Shrine by using Azoth. Fast Travel Points (Spirit Shrines) are scattered outside of Settlements, you must discover them first in order to use them, their location is marked on the Fast travel New World Map below. The Azoth fee ranges depending on the travel distance and discounts (if any).
New World Map for Resources
There are many resources you need to farm in New World. Also, you will need large amount of resources if you want to level your professionals (such as Cooking, Armoring, …)
As a result, you need a New World Map that indicates the location of each resource. If you raise the Gathering Trade Skill to the required level, the resource you are looking for will not be visible on the map but will be visible on the radar if you approach the area where it is present.
As you travel Aeternum, you’ll encounter random quests, expeditions, you need to search chest, look for monsters, material, find way to several key locations to visit throughout your travels. Luckily there are 2 interactive maps you can use that will show the specific locations of Points of Interests, chests, Territories, … Such tool encourage the maximize your gaming experience and optimize your farming effectiveness. As of real players evaluations, the fan made New World Map is superior with extremely detailed dense map and a convenient filter that helps us discover things quickly and easily.
How about New World Mini Map?
New World team says they have no plans for mini-map but will allow third party add-on. According to New World developer Lane: “The high level reasoning is that we have concerns with it meshing with New World’s action combat style and world design, that it could break immersion, may limit the drive for exploration, and there are technical limitations.”
Despite this, the team is going to be allowing players to take advantage of a third party mini-map add-on. This is the most popular of the available add-ons in the game.
There are some rules players need to follow to use the mini map so please be conscious about the rules to avoid the penalty.
