In league start, everyone who’s playing Path of Exile wants to have a very strong build without investing too much in items. So here is the 3 Insane PoE league starter builds in 3.16 we recommend.

1. Toxic rain – Champion:
Toxic rain has always been one of the best PoE league starter builds even it got nerfed. In patch 3.16, DoT passives on the skills tree and Cluster jewels have improved a lot. After rework of dodge mechanic in path of exile, Raider Ascendancy also gets nerfed because of that. That is why we choose Champion ascendancy, it has tons of armour/evasion ratings and Fortify. Maximum Life is now easier to get for builds allocating passives on the right side of the skill tree, but you will also benefit from Energy Shield, Evasion, Spell Suppression, and Armour creating a character with really solid defences. Build requires no Uniques or any expensive gear, making it one of the best PoE league starter builds.

2. Bane – Occultist:
Bane Occultist is a great league starter, it doesn’t require any specific items or any expensive items. This build is capable of dealing with the endgame content, and it’s easy to understand and play. With Occultist ascendancy, we can have an additional Curse and it synergizes well with Chaos Damage. You can inflict extra Curse by taking Whispers of Doom from Passive Skill Tree, and if your budget allows for it, the maximum number of Curses can be increased further from your gear.
It’s a Life build with a noticeable Energy Shield and Evasion Rating, your Chaos Resistance is very high, and due to the weapon you’re using – a two-handed Staff, it has a high Block Chance too. You can increase your damage look for CHaos Damage and Damage over Time, your Bane linked with Curses will deal enough damage to carry you to the red maps with a mediocre build.

Gameplay:
Use Essence Drain and Bane to kill packs of normal or magic monsters and use Blight and Bane for more vital opponents.
3. Exsanguinate/Seismic Trap – Saboteur:
Seismic Trap is one of the few Duration Traps, that once placed stay active dealing damage to the surroundings. This build is really good for bossing but not that great with fast map clearing. Additionally, Exsanguiate is great for quickly killing weak enemies – the tendrils instantly seek the nearest enemy and chain to another. Saboteur is the obvious choice – it has great synergy with Traps and offers some great defensive layers, with Pyromaniac you’re immune to Ignite and Shock and have a lot of Mana and Life Regeneration, with Born in the Shadows you’re immune to Blind, nearby enemies and enemies you hit are Blinded, which makes them deal less damage.
As many of the Physical Spells builds, uses two Cold Iron Point Daggers for 6 additional Levels for your Physical Spells – that really improves your DPS. There are little to no Unique Items that are mandatory – the previously mentioned Cold Iron Point is too good to not pick it, The Devouring Diadem, Tinkerskin, Replica Cheap Construction, or Slavedriver’s Hand could suit this build and are worth your consideration.

Gameplay:
Use the Exsanguinate Traps to deal with packs of enemies, Seismic Trap is used to kill bosses and the Rare enemies that are more resistant to your Spells. Place the Traps ahead of you as you go to clear the rooms, these will kill enemies before you will have a chance to see them.
