PoE 3.17 Update Confirmed Changes

Now that we’re in 2022, Grinding Gear Games have given fans a few more details on what to expect with the launch of PoE 3.17. Unfortunately for anyone who has been enjoying Scourge, it’s bad news.

As we mentioned recently, we’re expecting to launch our 3.17 expansion in early February which means that the ongoing Scourge Challenge League will end fairly soon. It prompts the question, will Scourge become a core Path of Exile mechanic? The short answer is no. We don’t have any current plans to bring Scourge back. It may still return sometime in the future but we can’t give any current indications for when that might be or what Scourge would look like as core game content.

In case you have unfinished challenges in this league, there are still a few weeks left to complete them before we say goodbye to The Last to Die and send the Scourge back to where they came from. – Posted by Natalia_GGG

Will Path of Exile 3.17 Update Add ‘Hard Mode’?

Before the turn of the year. Grinding Gear Games acknowledged that there’s been a clamor from fans for a new ‘hard mode’. However, the team also said that testing for this new experimental mode had been put on ice and wouldn’t be arriving until after the launch of the 3.17 Update. The developers told fans: We had mentioned in the past that we were going to start some testing before 3.17 launches. But as we have been prioritizing 3.17’s development, it’s now slated for sometime after 3.17’s launch.

At the time of writing no specific details on when this hard mode could arrive. We also could yet be given more details on the team’s next live stream.
